Manic Vision is a southern rock/jam band which originated in Tuscaloosa, AL. Forming in 2018, the band quickly began drawing crowds throughout Tuscaloosa with their blend of southern/blues rock and improvisation. Manic Vision now resides in Birmingham and is prepared to continue expanding throughout the southeast. In their time together, Manic Vision has joined Cycles, The Orange Constant, Forest Fire Gospel Choir, Midnight Revel, Ice Station Zebra, and others.
Manic Vision played their first show in Tuscaloosa at the now closed Green Bar in 2018. Bassist Hayes Laporte and Guitarist/Vocalist Andrew Krist have been playing in the band since that day. Guitarist Pierce McLawhorn and drummer Carter Speidel joined the band in 2019, when they started working on their debut EP Tired Eyes, which was released in early 2020.
In the Summer of 2020, Aaron Kurz replaced Pierce on guitar and vocals, and Benton Crane was added on keyboards. This formed the band’s current lineup of Aaron on guitar and vocals, Andrew on guitar and vocals, Benton on keyboards and vocals, Hayes on bass, and Carter on drums.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Manic Vision turned their focus to writing new material. What resulted was the majority of the tracks that ended up on their debut album No Change which is now available everywhere music is streamed.
